RhymeLounge w/ HOURS feat. Tzusan
Join HOURS for the third year with the Aberdeen Jazz Festival as they present another Rhyme Lounge, pairing hip-hop and live instrumentation. This year sees acclaimed MC/producer Tzusan performing in support of his new album, Ponzu.
The first solo project from the Edinburgh artist following a string of collaborative releases, Ponzu is an evolution of Tzusan’s distinctive approach, which draws as much from hauntology and hyperpop as it does from the homogenised landscape of contemporary UK rap music. The result is a sonic palette that dances between lofi nostalgia and digital maximalism, blending influences like Sega Bodega and Burial with hip-hop and grime.
Tzusan is performing across the UK in 2025, but only joined by the HOURS live quartet for this one-off show—blending album cuts, deep dives, and a few surprises for good measure. Grab your ticket now and don't miss one of the strongest live performers Scottish hip-hop has to offer.
Jackill is a rapper from Aberdeen, Scotland. One of the founding members of SAMA nominated Hip-Hop group “The Ill Collective”, Jackill has been a prominent figure in the Aberdeen and wider Scottish Hip-Hop scene. He released his debut album “A day with the Jackal” in 2019 and has featured on several projects with other musicians such as “Best Girl Athlete” , “Vagrant Real Estate”, “CLBRKS” and “Hamlet”. He has also supported and performed alongside artists such as Loki, Hector Bizerk and Old Blind Dogs.
Jackill is most at home rapping over old-school style boombap beats but easily adapts to other genres, anywhere from Folk and Jazz to Drum&Bass and Grime.
