My name is Alex Palmer and I'm the drummer for Unharm at this year's festival. This will be my only performance for the 2025 edition but a special one; James Mackay, Norman Villeroux and Norman Willmore are close and trusted collaborators since working in the Glasgow jazz scene and beyond.

I was introduced to James working together in an earlier iteration of Nimbus Sextet having been a big fan of his guitar playing alongside Noushy in Astrosnax. Developing music and recording drums for his productions under the moniker Unharm has been a very fulfilling closer collaboration with him since, a very talented blender of genres.

Norman Villeroux is a close friend and collaborator across countless projects now, the long lasting and most prominent being Azamiah with whom we performed in Islay last year to a lovely audience.

Norman Willmore astounds me as an all round musician and I'm thrilled to be working with him recently too on Brodie Jarvie's forthcoming record with the project Deceptive Lizard.

My inspiration on the kit can be found from the subversive and eccentric players such as Dave King, Mark Guiliana, Christian Lillinger, Nate Wood and Makaya Mcraven... plus bands like Hiatus Kaiyote, Horse Lords, Deerhoof and The Smile.

This will be my 4th time back to the island to play and I am honoured to be part of a fantastic lineup once again.
