GAÏA is a french singer-songwriter, now based in Glasgow who blends nu-jazz, r&b and neo-soul. She made her start in Glasgow’s vibrant grassroots jazz scene, listening, learning and honing her craft, eventually making a name for herself through local jam sessions. Having been deeply influenced by black music, her connection to her mixed-heritage is embodied in her music taking inspiration from her roots. Her songwriting speaks to her own experience as she navigates her identity and through her music; grounded and deeply inspired by black music all the fuelled by her the deeply fertile music community in Glasgow, leading to an eclectic mix of influences lending themselves to shaping her sound.
