Growing up through the Glaswegian jazz scene, James Mackay is a guitarist and composer
currently performing regularly as a solo artist and sideman with corto.alto, Pippa Blundell, Gaia Jeannot and others. With his solo project Unharm, he focuses his practise towards electronic and experimental music. Using the guitar and live electronics, these pieces and performances range from spiritual ambient sets to heavy and hypnotic groove based experiences. James has also expressed much more aggressive sounds with his free noise project BURNTDOWNSHED, completing his collection of sonic territories to explore during any given live performance.
