Gerwin Eisenhauer

Musical education: First drum lessons at the age of 10 with Uli Knod at the municipal music school in Weiden i.d.Opf.

After graduating from high school, I studied in New York City at the Drummers Collective with Dave Weckl, Kim Plainfield, Duduka da Fonseca, Mike Clerk, Pete Zeldman, Frankie Malabe and Ricky Sebastian.

Over my career I've had Tours & recordings with: TRIO ELF, Maria Gadu, Margareth Menezes, Richie Flores, Bobby Quaranta, Leo Traversa, Eric Mingus, Torsten de Winkel, Dave Valentin, Tony Lakatos, Jay Ashby, John Etheridge, Tim Lefebvre, Robby Ameen, Janek Gwiz Dalla, Magnus Östrom (EST), Monica Reed Price (Sting), Hubert Tubbs (Tower of Power), Maria Gadu, Marco Lobo, Milton Nascimento, Moodorama, Chris Thompson (Manfred Mann's EARTH BAND).

Teaching: Since 2019 I've been the Honorary Professor for Rhythmics at the University for Catholic Church Music and Pedagogy in Regensburg.

Since 1996 I've been a lecturer at the state-recognized vocational school for jazz and popular music (Music College) Regensburg for drums, percussion, ensemble playing, rhythm and rock history.

I've run clinics at the Dresden Drumfestival 2007, at the Drumfestival Erzgebirge 2008 and at the Drummers Collective in New York (2012 and 2019), and was a Guest lecturer at Oregon State College Portland (OR/USA), in Guadalajara (Mexico) and at the Drummers Collective/New York City.
