Hi, I'm Charlie Stewart, a fiddle player and double bassist. I grew up playing traditional music, and love playing in this genre with acts like harpist Rebecca Hill (with whom I released a debut album last year), Siobhan Miller and Juliette Lemoine. I also studied jazz bass and love the similarities in both genres of music, I feel very lucky to get to explore those similarities with the likes of Islay Jazz regulars Matt Carmicheal and Fergus McCreadie. I've really enjoyed coming to Islay Jazz festival as an audience member and a performer in the past and can't wait for this year!
