Hey, I’m Roan Anderson a drummer from Greenock, and I just finished studying Jazz at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Over the last few years I’ve got to play some fun gigs with the likes of Fergus McCreadie, Josef Akin, Noo.Vision and more. I’ve also recently recorded with Corto.Alto, Modernistic and The Sean Megaw Quartet. 

Last year I started my own project and released an EP featuring some amazing Glasgow musicians including Matt Carmichael and James Mackay. 

My current inspirations are drummers Kweku Sumbry, Marcus Gilmore and Eric Harland. I love playing lots of different genres of music and I don’t feel limited to playing jazz. 

I’m looking forward to playing Islay as I’ve heard it’s the best jazz festival in Scotland and I can’t wait to play and hang with such amazing musicians.
