SNJO presents: POP! ROCK! SOUL!
With guests Joe Locke and Tommy Blaize
Award-winning master vibraphonist Joe Locke joins the SNJO once again to play a fantastic selection of tracks taken from the modern American songbook. This time, Joe is joined by renowned vocalist, Tommy Blaize, lead singer of the BBC Strictly Come Dancing band. Singer-songwriters such as Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell, The Beatles, Bill Withers and Stevie Nicks brought heartfelt soul to their work, while artists and performers like The Isley Brothers, Led Zeppelin, Steely Dan and Earth Wind & Fire showered their enduring recordings with jazz, funk, orchestral and eclectic ornamentation. Joe, Tommy and the SNJO imbue this repertoire with a distinct jazz sensibility while maintaining all of the appealing features which made us love these classics in the first place.
Tickets to this event are exclusively available via Aberdeen Performing Arts: https://www.aberdeenperformingarts.com/whats-on/snjo-spring-concert-march-2026/
