Aberdeen Jazz Festival Youth meet every Monday from 5:00pm - 6:30 during term-time. Learn more about jazz and improvisation in this fun and inclusive ensemble.

 

The group is working towards a performance at the 2024 Aberdeen Jazz Festival. Participants and tutors will design the performance together over the course of the project period. Along the way expect to encounter distinctive musical styles, rhythms, and grooves in hands-on sessions that inspire improvisation and creativity, while also delving into fundamental music theory and structures.

 

Open to instrumentalists around S1 - S6 (or thereabouts). Participants should already be having lessons on their chosen instrument.  

 

Sessions are free and run weekly during the school term from October - March. Places are limited.
